Internet Safety Project: Homework due Monday February 21st


Find a partner; pick someone you can trust to do the work. At least one of you should have Internet access at home.

Listed below are several online applications. You and your partner should choose one.

Use the application to create a poster, cartoon, or presentation that warns high school students about Internet Dangers. Scare the heck out of them. You can use any of the videos from Internet Safety presentations (listed below).

1. Your presentation must include one of the following topics.
2. Make sure you list at least 10 safety tips at the end of your project for parents and teens.
3. You are in high school, so I am expecting high school presentations.
4. Check your spelling, grammar, word choice, etc.
5. Answer all the questions, develop a concise and informative presentation.
6. Create a Works Cited page for your sources.
7. Each partner group should answer the following Self Evaluation questions at the bottom of the Works Cited Page:
What did you learn about the Internet Safety?
How will your work change what you do when you are online?



-Internet Predators Predators – How do they find their victims? Who are their victims? How can you avoid these creeps? What should you do if you are approached?

-Posting and Privacy - Why should you respect your privacy? What kinds of posts are not appropriate? What should you avoid when posting? What does your online profile say about you?

-Cyberbullying - Who cyberbullies? What types of cyberbullying exist? Why do teens cyberbully? What should you do if you are cyberbullied?

-Online Hate - What is online hate? Why do teens/adults create hate sites? What are some of the consequences of hates sites?

-Passwords - Who should have your passwords to your social networking sites, email, chat rooms, etc? Why should passwords be complicated? Why should passwords be secret only to you? What can happen if you share a password?

-Inappropriate Images - What is Sexting? What constitutes as inappropriate images? Why do teens post inappropriate images? What can happen to someone who has pornography on his/her phone? Social networking account? etc? Who sends inappropriate images? Why?

-Social Networking and Your Future - why is it important to keep your online profile squeaky clean? Who looks at your online profile? Why? What are some examples of good ideas for your social networking profile? What are some examples of bad ideas for your social networking profile?
